# Technical Narration – RCC Structural Works

Saanvi Infratech is executing the reinforced cement concrete (RCC) structural works for the Bluefin Sylvanor villa project by adopting systematic construction methodologies, stringent quality control procedures, and industry best practices to ensure structural stability, durability, and timely project completion.

### 1. Surveying and Setting Out

The construction process commences with detailed surveying and grid marking using Total Station instruments. Building centre lines, column locations, and foundation coordinates are established in accordance with the approved structural drawings. All layout points are verified prior to commencement of excavation.

### 2. Foundation Works

Excavation is carried out to the specified depth and dimensions. After inspection of the founding level by the engineering team, Plain Cement Concrete (PCC) is laid to provide a clean and level working platform.

Foundation reinforcement is fabricated and fixed according to the approved Bar Bending Schedule (BBS). Reinforcement is checked for bar diameter, spacing, lap length, development length, cover, and anchorage before formwork installation.

### 3. Formwork (Shuttering)

High-quality modular shuttering systems are used for footings, pedestals, columns, beams, slabs, and staircases. The formwork is designed to maintain the required dimensions, alignment, line, level, and surface finish while safely supporting fresh concrete loads.

Before concreting, the following inspections are carried out:

* Alignment and plumb verification
* Level checks
* Tightness of joints
* Adequate supports and bracing
* Application of approved shuttering oil
* Cleaning of debris and loose materials

### 4. Reinforcement (Bar Bending & Fixing)

Reinforcement steel is processed using approved cutting and bending machines as per the Bar Bending Schedule.

The reinforcement team ensures:

* Correct bar diameter and spacing
* Proper lap splices and development lengths
* Adequate concrete cover using approved cover blocks
* Proper tying using binding wire
* Installation of chairs and spacer bars
* Placement of inserts, sleeves, conduits, and embedded items before concreting

Every reinforcement stage is inspected and approved before concrete placement.

### 5. Concrete Works

Concrete is supplied from an approved Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) plant with the specified grade and mix design.

Prior to pouring:

* Formwork clearance is obtained.
* Reinforcement clearance is completed.
* Embedded items are verified.
* Slump testing is performed.
* Cube samples are collected for compressive strength testing.

Concrete is placed using boom pumps or transit mixers and compacted with mechanical needle vibrators to eliminate voids and achieve dense, homogeneous concrete. Surface finishing is carried out immediately after placement, followed by curing for the specified duration.

### 6. Superstructure Construction

The RCC frame is executed floor by floor following an approved construction cycle consisting of:

* Column reinforcement and shuttering
* Column concreting
* Beam and slab shuttering
* Beam and slab reinforcement
* MEP sleeves and embedded items
* Pre-pour inspection
* Slab concreting
* Curing
* De-shuttering after achieving the required strength

This systematic cycle ensures consistency in quality and efficient progress across all villas.

### 7. Quality Assurance and Quality Control

Quality is maintained through continuous inspections and testing at every stage of construction.

Key QA/QC activities include:

* Reinforcement inspection
* Formwork inspection
* Pre-pour checklist verification
* Concrete slump testing
* Cube compressive strength testing
* Dimensional checks
* Verticality and level verification
* Cover measurement
* Concrete curing inspection
* Documentation of inspection records

All activities comply with project specifications, approved drawings, and applicable Indian Standards.

### 8. Safety Management

All structural activities are executed in accordance with approved Method Statements, Risk Assessments (RA), and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).

The safety management system includes:

* Mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
* Work-at-height protection
* Scaffolding inspections
* Safe lifting operations
* Barricading of work zones
* Daily toolbox talks
* Good housekeeping practices
* Routine safety inspections

### 9. Project Execution
